ManpowerGroup, one of the largest HR companies in the world, realized that it held a great deal of valuable data. However, it was not leveraging this information to drive competitive advantages for itself or its clients. The company needed to develop data-driven business review documents that could be used to drive strategic conversations. However, users asking the IT team to script and run reports from the Cognos Enterprise business intelligence solution faced a long queue. If the resulting document answered the wrong question, or users developed new questions after seeing the results, the process had to be repeated. This approach produced inconsistent answers to a question depending upon who you asked. These homegrown solutions also carried the risk of errors. Manpower has offices in more than 80 locations across the globe. While North American data is housed in a data warehouse, data from other locations could be provided in a number of different formats. Blending information from these disparate data sources into a cohesive customer presentation was a long, manual process.

Manpower has offices in more than 80 locations across the globe. While North American data is housed in a data warehouse, data from other locations could be provided in a number of different formats. 解决方案
In 2010, Manpower established an analytics team and acquired TAPFIN, a human resources managed services provider. The newly-established corporate analytics team wanted to align its efforts with TAPFIN’s analytics, which was produced and distributed through Tableau Server. A few people within Manpower were already using Tableau Desktop for client insight; the TAPFIN acquisition brought additional attention to Tableau, and usage began to increase. The analytics team began to provide Tableau visualizations for use in business reviews with clients. Today, more than 20 people are authoring reports in Tableau and up to hundred are seeing and interacting with completed visualizations. The team is primarily self-taught, through videos from tableausoftware.com and power users training newer users. Manpower recently participated in its first Tableau Training on-site. The analytics team usually works with data extracts for increased speed and performance, but occasionally will connect to larger data sources. The team has just started experimenting with the hosted version of Tableau Server, Tableau Online.

Flex Contact Center: Supporting rapid business growth with IBM Connections Cloud and IBM Verse
Flex Contact Center, a professional services company offering telesales, call-center, anti-attrition, back-office, helpdesk and collection services, has grown rapidly since its establishment in 2009. With operations in 12 sites across two states and four cities in Brazil, the company employs more than 11,000 people. However, the company realized that to prevent barriers to future expansion, it was essential to make it as easy as possible for its people to work together effectively—even if they were based in separate geographical locations. Traditional approaches to collaboration—based on email and phone calls—threatened to reduce productivity. Flex Contact Center wanted to enable better collaboration and communication across its workforce, but did not want to make large investments in infrastructure.

PureFluent: Connecting to partners and customers through the cloud for enhanced productivity
PureFluent, a translation services company, was facing challenges in managing its translation and document review processes. The company often received files in uneditable formats from customers, which required staff members to transfer text to word processing or spreadsheet documents. During the translation process, maintaining version control was a challenge because PureFluent sent work to hundreds of translators in multiple geographic locations. It was also time-consuming for staff to manage the large volume of emails and FTP transactions required to submit translations for customer review and ensure the integration of requested changes. Furthermore, staff were spending significant time hunting through their emails for specific attachments.
