The implementation of the Avid MediaCentral Platform has resulted in a more efficient workflow for WGBH. The organization can now share content with the click of a mouse, and productivity has increased by refining many processes. The new workflow has also become the backbone of a more streamlined process for local news production. The implementation of Interplay | Production for production asset management has enabled creative teams to use metadata to more effectively find and leverage content. The company is now in the third and final phase of the project, rolling out MediaCentral | UX, the cloud-based web front end to MediaCentral. This has gone relatively smoothly considering it’s a highly complex roll-out when dealing with as many people as they are. The implementation of the new systems has resulted in 100 percent uptime, with no days where they had to stop and start again.
