Rust-Oleum Europe, part of RPM International Inc, one of the world’s largest paint manufacturers, faced the challenge of ensuring compliance with regional regulations to maintain the right to sell in markets. Rust-Oleum Europe used Sphera’s Product Compliance Software to automate the production and management of Safety Data Sheet information (SDS) and label texts. The software includes Sphera Intelligent Authoring™ and Sphera Managed Regulatory Content. The company has been using Sphera software to author and manage SDSs at some of its facilities since 2007. In 2012, the company reformatted the SDSs for all of its mixtures as required under Annex II Regulation 1907/2006/EC of REACH – EU’s regulation for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals. The software helped the company to proactively address potential issues and continuously improve its SDS and labeling processes.
