Maverik Motion Picture Productions
Digi
When we first met the team at Maverik Motion Picture Productions, it consisted of 5 full time members of staf. As the company grew, this started to become problematic and due to the nature of the business, each member of the team was spending a lot of time on site with clients. This created a real need for each team member to be able to work remotely, using their mobile phones. The businesses central ofce was being rented, which meant the idea of a permanent solution would not be suitable, as they may need to expand or move in the near future.

Many drugs, medicine, and other pharmaceuticals are susceptible to temperature and humidity levels, and as such, have stringent storage requirements.Improper storage can result in medications losing their efficacy or becoming harmful to patients. To avoid deterioration in pharmaceutical product quality, clinic operators must consistently and accurately measure, monitor, and track real-time conditions in pharmaceutical storage cabinets. Controlling these conditions presents a significant challenge for medical facilities, as manually checking temperature and humidity is inefficient and labor-intensive, also carrying the risk of human error in measurement accuracy and reporting. IoT technologies are enabling medical practitioners to automate temperature monitoring of pharmaceutical storage cabinets. As one of the most renowned private medical clinics in Switzerland, the Merian Iselin Clinic sought a reliable and effective method of remotely monitoring and maintaining ideal temperature and humidity conditions within its pharmaceutical storage cabinets.

Real-Time Error Tracking and Handling in JSW's Manufacturing Plants with OpenLegacy
OpenLegacy
JSW, a multi-billion dollar company, is a key player in India’s steel, energy, cement, and infrastructure industries. The company's steel manufacturing is spread across multiple plants, each housing dozens of machines with numerous sensors tracking multiple data points and supplying event data every 2-3 seconds. This data includes field maintenance, material consumption, and machine usage. Although the data is saved in each machine’s database and transferred to the central Oracle databases, the process had significant issues. Each machine used its own data protocols, making the data transfer processes 'closed' and lacking a standard way of reporting errors. As a result, some errors went unnoticed for a long time, leading to financial losses. For instance, the production of metal with incorrect dimensions could go unnoticed, resulting in significant waste and financial loss.

AGM Creates Revolutionary New SCADA Communication Tool with CalAmp Solutions
CalAmp
Today, interoperability is a challenge. Communicating between programmable logic controllers (PLCs) from different vendors and with other peripheral devices on the same system presents difficulties. Industrial IoT companies rely on remote devices to control, monitor and maintain the health of their systems. The RTU, or remote terminal unit, transmits telemetry data to the PLC via the DCS or SCADA system and uses messages from them to control connected objects. For example, oil and gas companies need to know the status of pressure and volume on their pipeline. They may need to open or close valves depending on the conditions, which operators would do by communicating with the RTUs.When updates to the hardware were required, these companies were faced with limited options. They could either buy more devices from the same vendor, which was restrictive. Or, they could purchase from another manufacturer and then invest more time and money to have their SCADA integrator reprogrammed.

Make the Plant Smarter - Visual Quality Inspection Replacing Traditional Ways
IBM
In the aspect of streamlined production and product quality inspection, it is sometimes necessary for human staff to observe, identify, and discover errors and omissions in the production process. No matter how strong a person's sense of responsibility is or how concentrated he/she is, he/she may be fatigued, neglected, distracted, not to mention, he may turn a blind eye to the mistakes of acquaintances, causing defective products to flow to the market. At the same time, if the all-manual inspection method is adopted on the assembly line, it is not only heavy work but also quite time-consuming. In a modern production line, such an inspection method cannot be accepted, and more importantly, it does not add any value to the production itself.
