The Challenge
AAA National wanted to better support its member clubs in selling additional products to existing members, finding new members in each of their territories, and ensuring that brick-and-mortar office locations were optimally located based on club member demographics and drive-times. The process of gathering and analyzing the necessary data was time-consuming and complex, often taking up to three days to generate a complete and accurate data set for analysis. The data was sourced from different systems, making it difficult to match and blend with third-party demographic and census data. The use of multiple tools to work with the data further complicated the process and increased the potential for errors.
About The Customer
AAA, formerly the American Automobile Association, is a federation of motor clubs throughout North America. It is a not-for-profit member service organization with 54 million members in the United States and Canada. AAA provides a wide range of services, including its hallmark service, roadside assistance. With national headquarters in Heathrow, Florida, the role of AAA National is to support, not direct, each of the independent motor clubs. The organization has two main areas that require complex analysis: helping clubs understand their business, which includes understanding the demographics and purchase history of their membership as well as branch office location planning, and the foundation of AAA, their emergency roadside services.
The Solution
AAA National adopted Alteryx Analytics, a single tool that significantly reduced the time to generate a complete and accurate data set for analysis from three days to just two minutes. Alteryx Analytics allowed AAA to pull the right data set together, select the exact fields needed, and perform the necessary operations on the fields. The built-in integration with Experian demographic and U.S. census data in Alteryx greatly enhanced AAA's in-house data, providing member clubs with comprehensive reports with embedded maps. This helped the clubs better understand their membership base, improve staffing and response times for the organization’s emergency roadside service, and make more informed decisions about where to open or close a brick-and-mortar location.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).

Monitoring of Pressure Pumps in Automotive Industry
A large German/American producer of auto parts uses high-pressure pumps to deburr machined parts as a part of its production and quality check process. They decided to monitor these pumps to make sure they work properly and that they can see any indications leading to a potential failure before it affects their process.
