Collaborative Data-driven Business Models - IoT ONE Case Study
Technology Category
  • Analytics & Modeling - Data-as-a-Service
Applicable Industries
  • Automotive
Applicable Functions
  • Discrete Manufacturing
Services
  • System Integration
The Challenge

In the real world, installed machines come from different machine suppliers that are equipped with different products from different component suppliers. Challenge for manufacturer X (component supplier) to access the data of his delivered product X.

Current barriers to implementing collaborative business models:

  • Lack of trust
  • Lack of corporation
  • Lack of scalability
  • Lack of business model
  • Lack of framework for digital intrapreneurship and entrepreneurship
The Solution

The use case "Collaborative Condition Monitoring" (CCM) deals with the collection and use of operating data to optimize the reliability and service life of machines and their components during operation. Data is shared among components supplier, machine OEM, and factory operator.

Solution modules – Neutral integration platform.

Solution modules – digital standards, e.g. Asset Administration Shell (AAS).

The data owner decides which data is shared with which user, with which access rights and for what purpose it is processed.

Operational Impact
  • [Financial Growth - Revenue]

CCM can generate an economic advantage within the digital ecosystem ("digital business model").
