The Challenge
Griiip, an Israeli motorsport company, aimed to popularize motorsport in Israel and globally, outside the Formula 1 circuit. The company designed a new, fast, and professional race car, the G1, that combined efficiency in racing with a competitive purchase price and low running costs. However, the challenge was to create a race car that was both very strong and very light. All parts of the car needed to be optimized for loads, stress, weight, and endurance. The company also wanted to reduce the development time and the many iterations needed before getting to the final product and each component. Another challenge was to create a new and exciting viewing experience for motorsport fans.
About The Customer
Griiip is an Israeli motorsport company that aims to make motorsport more popular in Israel and all over the world, outside the Formula 1 circuit. The company has designed a new, fast, and professional race car, the G1, and with it, an entirely new racing series, the 'G1 Series'. Griiip started out as a race car company, developing and building racing cars for entry-level racing categories. Today, the company has grown into a racing platform provider, delivering live video and data, prediction analysis, advanced insights, and mixed reality races to a platform, giving fans and drivers an exciting destination to engage with motorsports.
The Solution
Griiip employed several products from the Altair HyperWorks™ suite, including Altair Radioss™ for crash simulation, Altair OptiStruct™ for structural optimization, general FE analysis, and Altair HyperMesh™ and Altair HyperView™ for pre- and post-processing tasks. The use of these tools allowed Griiip to optimize every part in the G1 for loads, stress, weight, and endurance. The company was able to reduce the development time and the many iterations needed before getting to the final product and each component. Griiip also developed a media platform that created a new exciting race-viewing experience. The company used new data-related technology to collect, analyze, and distribute different data, allowing drivers to improve their skills and knowledge about the setup of the car without requiring an expert in the middle.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).

Underground Mining Safety
The goal was to produce a safety system to monitor and support underground mining operations; existing systems were either too simple (i.e. phone line) or overly complex and expensive, inhibiting deployment, and providing little-to-no support in event of an accident. Given the dangerous nature of the mining work environment and the strict regulations placed on the industry, the solution would have to comply with Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations. Yet the product needed to allow for simple deployment to truly be a groundbreaking solution - increasing miner safety and changing daily operations for the better.

Monitoring of Pressure Pumps in Automotive Industry
A large German/American producer of auto parts uses high-pressure pumps to deburr machined parts as a part of its production and quality check process. They decided to monitor these pumps to make sure they work properly and that they can see any indications leading to a potential failure before it affects their process.
