The Challenge
The urban housing crisis, particularly in Paris, has been a significant challenge for millennials seeking affordable, furnished, and community-oriented housing. The traditional process of finding a suitable place to live is often time-consuming, complex, and lacks transparency. The founder of HackerHouse, Stephane Bounmy, identified this problem and sought to create a solution that would simplify the process and make it more accessible for millennials. As a full-stack developer with experience in startups in San Francisco and Paris, Stephane had the technical skills but found building a platform from scratch while running the company to be a daunting task.
About The Customer
HackerHouse primarily targets millennials in urban cities, particularly in Paris, who are seeking affordable, furnished, and community-oriented housing. These individuals are often faced with the challenge of finding suitable housing in a market that is increasingly competitive and expensive. They value convenience, affordability, and community, and are likely to be tech-savvy and comfortable with using an app to find and book housing. The app also serves individuals who have a room to rent and are looking for a hassle-free way to list their space, receive payments, and get support.
The Solution
Stephane turned to Bubble, a no-code platform, to build HackerHouse, an app that helps millennials find furnished, community housing at an affordable price. The app allows users to search for rooms and rent a place for up to eight months. It provides a desk, bed, and community to millennials seeking housing. If a user has a room to rent, they can post their listing as a host on HackerHouse for free and receive payment and support through the app. Users looking for a place can search for rooms, view pictures, read descriptions, amenities, and reviews about the host, and book a room for one to eight months. The move-in process is simplified, allowing users to move in the following day and meet their future roommates.

Intelligent Building Automation System and Energy Saving Solution
One of the most difficult problems facing the world is conserving energy in buildings. However, it is not easy to have a cost-effective solution to reduce energy usage in a building. One solution for saving energy is to implement an intelligent building automation system (BAS) which can be controlled according to its schedule. In Indonesia a large university with a five floor building and 22 classrooms wanted to save the amount of energy being used.
