The Challenge
Sensirion, a leading manufacturer of high-quality sensors and sensor solutions, was facing the challenge of monitoring information from multiple different sources due to the rapid speed of digitalization. The company had infrastructure across multiple sites and customers around the globe across multiple different time zones, making unifying Sensirion’s monitoring capabilities a complex task. The company was using a static legacy product with no auto-discovery and dependency recognition capabilities. Sensirion needed an enterprise IT platform that could help solve these problems with automation and built-in logic.
About The Customer
Sensirion is a leading manufacturer of high-quality sensors and sensor solutions for the measurement and control of humidity and gas and liquid flows. The company is headquartered in Säfa, Switzerland and was founded in 1998. Sensirion serves customers in the United States, South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Netherlands, and Germany. The company has over 1000 employees and operates on a multinational scale. Sensirion's products are used in a wide range of applications, including automotive, medical, HVAC, and consumer goods.
The Solution
Sensirion chose the LogicMonitor platform as their solution. LogicMonitor offered automation, simplicity, and complete coverage without complexity. The platform was able to consolidate Sensirion's eight monitoring tools into one, dramatically freeing up resources, consolidating core functions, and simplifying operations. LogicMonitor also enhanced the overall availability of the infrastructure dramatically, preventing dozens of hours of troubleshooting time. The platform's auto-discovery system and automated monitoring capabilities caught numerous issues, such as misconfiguration of devices. LogicMonitor also made connecting to the cloud easier, allowing for faster technology onboarding.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).
