About The Customer
The customer is a leading company in the field of security systems for highly secure commercial installations. They specialize in combining innovations in machine learning, artificial intelligence, networking technology, and sensors to create comprehensive security solutions. Their objective was to deploy a connectivity solution for hundreds of installations worldwide that could handle high gigabytes of data per device without throttling, and provide always-on connectivity to collect and send real-time video.
The Solution
The company designed a surveillance solution for perimeter and border security at various high-security sites. The solution was compact and included sensor and networking technology, along with solar power, making it quick to deploy and requiring minimal support even in harsh conditions. The solution performed real-time analysis and filtered data to optimize data transmission to the cloud. The company's cloud platform utilized artificial intelligence, machine learning, and mesh networking to provide an accurate operating picture and integrated third-party data for complete situational awareness. Sierra Wireless connectivity solutions were used to connect hundreds of installations to the cloud platform. In North America, the sentry towers were equipped with AirLink RV55 routers and Enhanced Carrier Connectivity, while in Europe, connectivity was through Wireless Smart Connectivity. The company was able to easily integrate the new SIMs into an existing fleet, all managed on AirVantage, the Sierra Wireless connectivity management platform.
