挑战
AAA Ohio Auto Club was struggling with data management due to siloed operational systems. The organization was unable to use data strategically or gain a consolidated view of business operations. Managers were using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to track business metrics, but it was difficult to generate a consolidated view of the operation. The organization was receiving more data and trying to review it with tools like Excel and Tableau, but they couldn't report quickly and accurately with the data. The BI licensing structure was also a challenge for them.

解决方案
AAA Ohio Auto Club decided to replace inefficient reporting tools with a comprehensive BI platform that integrates and visualizes data. They chose Information Builders’ WebFOCUS business intelligence (BI) and analytics platform to create a self-service analytic environment. This platform helps employees to visualize the data they need to effectively perform their jobs. The BI strategy of AAA Ohio is to create customized portals for various parts of its operation, allowing users to select, visualize, and drill into the data they need. WebFOCUS provides a flexible environment for users to access content and display it through their choice of dashboards, charts, graphs, maps, and interactive InfoApps. This self-service access to information significantly minimizes reliance on the BI group for reporting since users are empowered to access and analyze data themselves.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).
