挑战
The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) faced significant challenges in managing its extensive facilities and assets, including the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) stadium. The existing system, which relied on USI’s Event Business Management System and a mix of spreadsheets and paper-based systems, was inadequate for the life-cycle management of various asset groups such as building structures, services, land, and equipment. The MCC needed a more efficient and integrated asset management system to handle its complex operations and improve oversight.
关于客户
Founded in 1838, the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) is the oldest sporting organization in Australia and one of the largest, with over 97,000 members and a waiting list exceeding 160,000. The MCC manages the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) stadium, which has a capacity of nearly 100,000 fans. The MCC's extensive activities and facilities required a robust asset management system to oversee its numerous buildings and grounds, totaling over 2.1 million square feet. The MCC's operations are supported by 100 full-time and nearly 1,000 casual event employees.
解决方案
To address its asset management challenges, the MCC implemented a range of ARCHIBUS applications, including Real Property & Lease Management, Space Management, Condition Assessment, Building Operations Management, and Web Central. These applications created an advanced web-based system for collecting and distributing asset information. The integration with other core corporate applications, such as the SunSystems financial accounting software and the proposed electronic purchase order system (iPOS), further enhanced the MCC's financial controls and asset lifecycle management. The ARCHIBUS solution provided a single asset register, streamlined work order processing, and improved data access and reporting capabilities.
运营影响
  • The MCC's Facilities Service Center became more efficient, with work requests submitted and updated via Web Central, allowing departmental staff to access, edit, and report on jobs.
  • The implementation led to a near-doubling of recorded work requests received and acted upon by the Facilities department.
  • The asset management functionality provided answers to previously labor-intensive questions about the asset base.
数量效益
  • The MCC avoided the cost of hiring an additional Service Center operator.
  • Hours saved every week in chasing data and reports.
