The collaboration between SpaceChain and Spire resulted in a successful implementation of blockchain technology in space. The partnership allowed SpaceChain to quickly move its software to Spire's existing satellites, achieving global scale in the Low Earth Orbit (LEO). As the relationship grew, SpaceChain gained confidence in Spire’s capabilities to accelerate the project. This partnership not only enabled SpaceChain to launch and scale its software platform into space but also added an extra layer of security to cryptocurrency transactions, taking digital currency security to the next level.

SpaceChain was able to go live on a Spire satellite in less than a month after handing over the software on 24th September 2021.
SpaceChain leveraged Spire’s constellation of more than 100 satellites for its project.
The Spire LEMUR satellite, carrying a larger piece of SpaceChain's software, was successfully launched on the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in January 2022.
