Several years ago, Darifair experienced substantial growth and outgrew their home-grown technology solutions and numerous Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. They struggled to keep up with the volume of orders, processing up to several hundred orders a day. At this point, they lacked tracking capabilities and had not implemented quality assurance & quality control (QAQC) formulization, leading to manual data entry with too few personnel. Darifair needed detailed and real-time insight into production at each of their 50+ plants, as well as their customers' needs, demands, and seasonal trends.

Chartered as America’s first national dairy supplier, Darifair is headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, and has been in business since 1985. The company was founded by three dairy specialists who consolidated their expertise. Darifair is a dairy manufacturer, but their actual production is outsourced to over 50 manufacturing plants across the United States. Today, Darifair supplies goods such as hollandaise sauce, butter, ice cream, and more to every national restaurant chain across America. They also supply dairy products to industrial manufacturers for creating sauces, condiments, and more. Despite not being a traditional manufacturer, Darifair manages production off-site and requires unique technology solutions to oversee their extensive operations.

Darifair searched for industry-specific solutions and found Vicinity, which provides software solutions for process and formula manufacturers. Vicinity integrates with Microsoft Dynamics® GP and Microsoft Dynamics CRM products, allowing Darifair to connect all their business process systems into one central location. Vicinity met extensively with Darifair to discuss their unique needs and planned how their solutions could meet those needs. The implemented solution includes Microsoft Dynamics CRM for managing client relationships and communication tracking, Microsoft Dynamics GP for managing sales orders and financial data, and integration with Genesis Research & Development for nutrient analysis and labeling. This integration provides Darifair's formulators and food scientists with real-time access to product review and analysis. Additionally, Vicinity and Microsoft Dynamics GP were configured to enable Darifair to track formulas, see product trends, forecast production for restaurant promotions, and gain deep insights into each of their plants.
