Previously, many Treasury functions of MAN Energy Solutions had been handled centrally by a parent company. A carve-out posed an opportunity to establish Treasury processes that would fit the organization. One of the biggest challenges with the carve-out was to find a suitable payment solution to have maximum transparency. It was difficult to consolidate the data coming in via individual e-banking solutions, and managing them would be tied to a lot of effort from our part. MAN Energy Solutions needed a solution to avoid a large number of stand-alone systems and thus required one standardized payment platform. A further requirement was that the solution needed to be able to integrate well with MAN Energy Solutions’ ERP systems (SAP) and the newly adopted Treasury Management System (corima by COPS). Another issue that needed to be addressed was connecting international affiliates. With the carve-out as a deadline, an ambitious timeline was set for roll-out.

MAN Energy Solutions chose TIS as the standardized payment platform to address their challenges. TIS was selected due to its deep SAP integration and long-standing partnership with COPS. The main goals of the project were to connect systems and banks to a central hub that serves as a single source of truth, establish company-wide straight-through processing to eliminate potential compliance risks, and create a basis for future growth with a standard onboarding procedure for new affiliates. TIS functions as a central hub that connects enabling functions, back-end systems, and banks, providing a holistic solution that enables end-to-end payment processes and seamless flow of data. TIS was first introduced in locations in Germany and Denmark, leveraging TIS’ existing bank connections to establish connectivity. MAN Energy Solutions plans to continue rolling out TIS to its affiliates all over the world. In the future, affiliates can handle payments directly via the Enterprise Payment Optimization Platform instead of relying on e-banking solutions.
