iWeb chose the Peakflow SP solution from Arbor Networks to protect its data center from DDoS attacks. Peakflow SP provides cost-effective network visibility and security by analyzing IP flow data that exists in data center routers and switches. It determines “normal” network behavior and can detect network anomalies that could be caused by misconfigurations, flash crowd events, or DDoS attacks. In the case of DDoS attacks, Peakflow SP provides a great amount of information per attack, including source IP addresses and protocols, target IP addresses and protocols, impacted router and switch interfaces, and more. In addition, Peakflow SP automatically creates router access control lists that help network operators stop DDoS attacks.
