Prior to partnering with Datto, Fast Computers was relying on building their own solution. They worked with various technologies and catered to clients on a case-by-case basis. However, when they came across Datto, they knew it was the right solution. One of Fast Computers’ clients, a small automotive repair shop, faced a critical situation when their server failed in January 2016. With no IT staff on hand, they relied on Fast Computers to protect their invoices and keep their business running. Multiple drive failures meant that the main shop and a second location were at risk of significant downtime, which would have severely impacted their operations.

The company has been a Datto Partner for about four years, ever since Datto established a data center in Canada. This partnership has allowed Fast Computers to offer robust backup, recovery, and business continuity solutions to their clients.

Datto’s technology allowed even entry-level technicians to handle file restores effortlessly, which was a significant improvement over their previous build-your-own solution. When the automotive repair shop’s server failed, Fast Computers and Datto were able to quickly boot up the Datto device and receive support from Datto Tech Support to overcome any hurdles. The shop ran off the Datto device for four days while Fast Computers prepared and set up a new server. This seamless transition ensured that the client experienced no downtime, which would have been impossible with traditional BCDR technology.
