Berlin Recycling, a subsidiary of BSR Berliner Stadtreinigungsbetriebe, was facing several challenges in its operations. The parent company's SAP system was not providing the necessary reports for corporate management. The company needed a solution that could automate the preparation of its own analyses and reports. With the vast amount of data that the company was dealing with, it was crucial to have a system that could process and analyze this data efficiently. Furthermore, the company was looking for a way to manage and optimize its processes intelligently.

解决方案
Berlin Recycling adopted QlikView for analyses in sales, marketing, and management. The solution was used in operations management to track the location and disposal cycle of containers of various sizes. In sales, QlikView helped identify areas of most intensive operation, client structure, and the city areas with the most clients. The management cockpit used QlikView to develop disposal optimization concepts based on the analysis of weighbridge tickets. This led to improved disposal cycles and findings on emptying rounds and waste weights. Additionally, maps of Berlin from Google Maps were stored in QlikView to easily visualize areas of intense operation and profitable districts.

A SMART SOLUTION FOR A CIRCULAR ECONOMY
A detailed study conducted by a student from Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICAI in Spain highlighted the need for ecologically safe and sustainable products. While recycling plays an important role in the circular economy, many consumers don’t recycle for a variety of reasons, including lack of space, inconveniently located recycling centers and collection containers, or distrust and/or disbelief in the recycling process. Organizations needed a model that made recycling easier and more accessible for everyone.
