挑战
Scripps Networks faced significant challenges with their manual conference room scheduling system. The system, managed by a single receptionist using a spreadsheet, was labor-intensive and prone to errors such as double-booking and missed equipment requests. This inefficiency was particularly problematic given the high frequency of meetings across their multiple locations in Knoxville, New York, and Los Angeles. The manual system was not only time-consuming but also failed to provide easy access to scheduling information for meeting participants, leading to less productive meetings overall.
关于客户
Scripps Networks is a leading developer of cable television programming, known for popular brands such as HGTV, Food Network, DiY (Do it Yourself), Fine Living, and GAC. Headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, with additional sites in New York City and Los Angeles, Scripps Networks employs approximately 1,700 individuals. The company occupies 11 buildings, comprising 504,000 square feet of space across its enterprise. Given the nature of the broadcasting business, Scripps Networks conducts a high volume of meetings, necessitating an efficient and reliable conference room scheduling system.
解决方案
To address these challenges, Scripps Networks implemented the ARCHIBUS Room Reservations application, a Windows-based solution integrated with ARCHIBUS Web Central and Space Management. The new system allowed for self-service scheduling, enabling employees to book conference rooms via the corporate intranet. Users could search for available rooms with the necessary amenities, view floor plans, and receive automatic email notifications upon reservation confirmation. The implementation process involved training 'power users' from the ranks of executive assistants and other key personnel, who tested the system and provided feedback for further refinement. The ARCHIBUS Solution Center – Research Triangle played a crucial role in customizing the application to meet Scripps' specific needs.

Vodafone Hosted On AWS
Vodafone found that traffic for the applications peak during the four-month period when the international cricket season is at its height in Australia. During the 2011/2012 cricket season, 700,000 consumers downloaded the Cricket Live Australia application. Vodafone needed to be able to meet customer demand, but didn’t want to invest in additional resources that would be underutilized during cricket’s off-season.
