The Challenge
Brigade Group, a leading property developer in South India, was facing significant operational challenges due to their reliance on a hardware-based solution for their IT needs. The company had to frequently send IT staff to remote sites to repair systems infected with malware, which was both costly and time-consuming. With 15 sites spread across India, this was a significant drain on resources and productivity. The existing solution, a combination of Websense and Microsoft’s ISA, was proving unreliable and did not provide the necessary control over remote sites. Furthermore, some sites had no firewall protection at all, leaving them vulnerable to security threats. The company was in dire need of a solution that could provide reliable remote site coverage and meet the stringent reliability requirements of their business.
About The Customer
Brigade Group, founded in 1986, is a prominent property developer in South India with a diverse portfolio that includes property development, property management services, hospitality, and education. The company has projects in several major cities in South India, including Chennai, Chikmagular, Hyderabad, Kochi, Mangalore, and Mysore. The company was facing significant operational challenges due to their reliance on a hardware-based IT solution, which was proving unreliable and did not provide the necessary control over remote sites. The company was in need of a solution that could provide reliable remote site coverage and meet the stringent reliability requirements of their business.
The Solution
Brigade Group turned to Zscaler, a cloud-based security solution, to address their challenges. The Zscaler service offered a zero-footprint solution with high availability and reliability, without the need for any hardware or appliances. This was a significant shift from their previous hardware-based solution and required no on-site IT staff for maintenance or troubleshooting. The Zscaler service provided superior security protection, with no incidents reported a year after deployment. It also allowed Brigade to monitor and control productivity, reducing nonproductive use of the internet from 30% to less than 5%. The success of the Zscaler service convinced Brigade's management of the effectiveness of cloud-delivered models, leading them to consider moving additional services to the cloud.
