Cornfields Incorporated, a leader in the private label healthy snack market, was previously only utilizing an accounting system and lacked any manufacturing operations support. In order to grow their business and stay competitive in the flourishing, all-natural and organic industry, they needed one unified system that would manage the accounting functions as well as manufacturing from raw materials to finish goods. They also desired a solution that provided lot tracking and quality control to meet increasing certification standards.

Cornfields Incorporated is a leader in the private label healthy snack market. Since 1885, they have paved the way for a commercial process of popping corn while preserving a homemade taste. Today, Cornfields continues its dedication and innovation to the business of producing healthy snacks and creating chocolate confections. They are a full-service manufacturing environment, co-packing for national brands and private label for national retailers. They also produce their own brand of snacks.
The Solution
Upon evaluating ERP software solutions, Cornfields decided to implement ProcessPro in 2006, a fully integrated ERP solution that aligned with their manufacturing and growth needs. The implementation process was smooth and the return on the software investment has been astronomical. Cornfields has experienced extensive growth over the past decade, initially implemented with five ProcessPro users, they are now operating on 65 users. They also implemented Warehouse Management Solution (WMS), Business Intelligence (BI), Dock Scheduling, and Lot Tracking as software add-on applications.
Operational Impact
  • The use of ProcessPro’s Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) has allowed for more efficient and effective use of Cornfields’ resources by factoring in supply, demand, and forecasted requirements to plan production and purchasing.
  • ProcessPro’s ERP solution has provided complete lot traceability for incoming raw materials, quarantined inventory, finished products and outgoing shipments.
  • Utilization of Dock Scheduling has allowed Cornfields to manage and schedule inbound and outbound shipments across different locations and create individual daily templates for available slots.
Quantitative Benefit
  • Since implementing 2006, they have grown an incredible 8,375% and expanded operations from a 50,000 square foot facility to a 250,000 square foot facility.
