The Challenge
Gett, a Tel-Aviv based transportation company, was facing challenges in providing real-time updates to its riders and drivers. The company's mission was to provide the best mobility platform for enterprises, offering an end-to-end solution for business travel. However, the periodic updates from their backend server were causing delays of 5-10 seconds before riders received updates on their driver's status or payment completion. This delay was negatively impacting both riders and drivers, leading to cancellations and rebooking, which translated into lost money. Gett needed a solution that could provide instantaneous updates without any delays, loss of information, or security lapses.
About The Customer
Gett is a transportation company based in Tel-Aviv, dedicated to simplifying business ground travel. The company aims to provide the best mobility platform for enterprises, offering an end-to-end solution for managing business travel. Gett offers dedicated apps for riders and drivers, as well as a web-based portal for company admins and employees to manage their travel plans. The company allows its customers to easily book and manage rides with any of Gett’s transportation partners, or with their own preferred service. For drivers, Gett offers a unified workspace to receive requests from its multiple integrated services.
The Solution
Gett found its solution in PubNub, a real-time communication platform. By integrating PubNub, Gett was able to replace its original syncing logic, reducing the lag between updates from 10-15 seconds to just a few milliseconds. This allowed Gett to handle time-sensitive tasks like notifying riders about their ride status, verifying credit card charges, and accurately displaying final receipts instantly. PubNub also proved beneficial for Gett's driver-side services, enabling real-time updates for drivers about available ride requests. This increased speed and visibility gave drivers the autonomy and broad choice of routes necessary for consistent, rewarding work. Furthermore, PubNub's reliability and speed helped Gett win the confidence of their enterprise customers, ensuring them of a seamless and reliable travel experience.

Intelligent Building Automation System and Energy Saving Solution
One of the most difficult problems facing the world is conserving energy in buildings. However, it is not easy to have a cost-effective solution to reduce energy usage in a building. One solution for saving energy is to implement an intelligent building automation system (BAS) which can be controlled according to its schedule. In Indonesia a large university with a five floor building and 22 classrooms wanted to save the amount of energy being used.
