Untitled is a company that is building a platform to help its clients leverage data across departments. The company's data products enable non-technical staff to derive key insights, leading to increased revenue, decreased operating costs, and the development of sophisticated AI and ML capabilities. However, the traditional process of building data pipelines, which is crucial for transferring data from one point to another, was proving to be a significant challenge. This process was time-consuming, accounting for as much as 44% of data engineers’ time, and was hindering the rapid development of their platform.
About The Customer
Untitled's customers include businesses like Delta Dental and Papa John’s. These customers use Untitled's platform to answer important business questions such as the ROI of advertising dollars, predicting customer churn, the effectiveness of customer service and support operations, the profitability of sales channels, and the characteristics of best-performing employees. The platform allows users with little to no technical expertise to mine for insights that would typically only be findable by a data scientist. This enables clients to do more with fewer resources, making it possible to scale.
The Solution
To overcome this challenge, Untitled adopted Powered by Fivetran (PBF), an automated data integration solution. PBF allows end-users to connect their data to an analytic application or portal independently. It also includes all the perks found in standard Fivetran, including 180+ pre-built and fully managed connectors for a wide variety of data sources. This solution enabled Untitled’s team to quickly spin up prototypes of new features and move them to beta testing without tying up its engineers or worrying about data integration work. The company could focus on building dashboards and reports from customer-owned data sources with minimal coding and engineering overhead.

As of 2014, AK-Centralen has over 1,500 Danish supermarkets equipped, and utilizes 16 operators, and is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. AK-Centralen needed the ability to monitor the cooling alarms from around the country, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Each and every time the door to a milk cooler or a freezer does not close properly, an alarm goes off on a computer screen in a control building in southwestern Odense. This type of alarm will go off approximately 140,000 times per year, equating to roughly 400 alarms in a 24-hour period. Should an alarm go off, then there is only a limited amount of time to act before dairy products or frozen pizza must be disposed of, and this type of waste can quickly start to cost a supermarket a great deal of money.
