挑战
Time consuming planning, long hours and high driver turnover probably describe the challenges faced by many beer distributors. Thousands of SKUs, seasonal fluctuations and rising transportation costs are causing distributors, like Champion Brands, to look for transportation management software to help optimize operational efficiencies. Champion Brands had experienced significant driver turnover, prior to the Territory Planner implementation. Now, driver turnover is virtually non-existent, because they have been able to reduce the average driver day from 10 hours to 8 hours, and reduce over 100 miles per week per truck. Additionally, Mike was able to route each sales territory to be paired with a driver, significantly improving customer service.
关于客户
Based in Jacksonville, Florida, Champion Brands has over 3000 customers and routes of 35-40 trucks daily. Champion Brands is a beer distributor affiliated with Miller Brewing Company and Coors Brewing Company. The company faced significant challenges with high driver turnover, long hours, and time-consuming planning processes. They were burning out their drivers, routers, and loaders with the number of extra hours they were putting in daily. The company was hesitant at first to adopt new software, fearing it would be too complicated. However, they found the software to be user-friendly and have since experienced significant improvements in operational efficiencies and employee morale.
解决方案
Mike Nearbin, service director for Champion Brands, turned to Omnitracs Roadnet Technologies and licensed Territory Planner®, Roadnet, and FleetLoader. Until they began using Territory Planner, Champion Brands would reroute deliveries by using 3x5 cards on a conference table once a year with 15 supervisors. This process would take nearly two months, was very time-consuming and expensive. Now with Territory Planner, reroutes, 'what-if' scenarios, and holiday routes can be prepared within just a few hours. The software is user-friendly, and even non-technical staff can use it effectively. Mike has been able to walk someone through the routing process over the phone, even when he was out of the office. The implementation of these solutions has led to significant improvements in operational efficiencies, reduced driver turnover, and improved customer service.

HEINEKEN Uses the Cloud to Reach 10.5 Million Consumers
For 2012 campaign, the Bond promotion, it planned to launch the campaign at the same time everywhere on the planet. That created unprecedented challenges for HEINEKEN—nowhere more so than in its technology operation. The primary digital content for the campaign was a 100-megabyte movie that had to play flawlessly for millions of viewers worldwide. After all, Bond never fails. No one was going to tolerate a technology failure that might bruise his brand.Previously, HEINEKEN had supported digital media at its outsourced datacenter. But that datacenter lacked the computing resources HEINEKEN needed, and building them—especially to support peak traffic that would total millions of simultaneous hits—would have been both time-consuming and expensive. Nor would it have provided the geographic reach that HEINEKEN needed to minimize latency worldwide.
