挑战
Paper Transport, a for-hire truckload carrier, was facing challenges in managing its fleet of trailers. The company's drivers were often frustrated by the time-consuming task of searching for empty trailers. This not only affected the drivers' job satisfaction but also resulted in significant productivity losses for the company. Every time a driver arrived at a trailer that wasn't empty, the company lost over $100 per hour in productivity, leading to a monthly loss exceeding $30,000. To address this issue, the company needed an efficient trailer tracking system with cargo sensing capabilities.

解决方案
To address its challenges, Paper Transport decided to partner with Spireon and implement its FleetLocate trailer management solution. FleetLocate's cargo sensing technology gave Paper Transport the confidence that trailers were empty and ready when drivers showed up for pickup. The solution's strong API connections allowed for seamless integration with the tools already used by Paper Transport's team. The company's internal team developed a mapping tool for their operations team that pulls information from FleetLocate, providing greater visibility of freight in the network. The solution also allowed Paper Transport to present trailer data to its shipping customers for increased transparency. As part of its commitment to staying ahead of technological advancements, Paper Transport recently upgraded its devices from 3G to 4G with Spireon.

Vehicle Fleet Analytics
Organizations frequently implement a maintenance strategy for their fleets of vehicles using a combination of time and usage based maintenance schedules. While effective as a whole, time and usage based schedules do not take into account driving patterns, environmental factors, and sensors currently deployed within the vehicle measuring crank voltage, ignition voltage, and acceleration, all of which have a significant influence on the overall health of the vehicle. In a typical fleet, a large percentage of road calls are related to electrical failure, with battery failure being a common cause. Battery failures result in unmet service agreement levels and costly re-adjustment of scheduled to provide replacement vehicles. To reduce the impact of unplanned maintenance, the transportation logistics company was interested in a trial of C3 Vehicle Fleet Analytics.

Jaguar Land Rover Speeds Order-to-Cash Cycle
At Jaguar Land Rover, vehicles physically move around the facility for testing, configuration setting, rework and rectification, leading to a longer search time to get each vehicle to its next process facility. The main goal is to minimize the vehicles' dwell time between end of line and the delivery chain which was previously a manually intensive process. Jaguar Land Rover's goal was to build on the success of an earlier RFID project and improve the efficiency of delivering vehicles to meet dealer orders.
