They were in the process of implementing a new ERP system and were also keen on improving customer service and increasing staff engagement. The majority of incidents were generated by customer complaints, which were often picked up late in the system, impacting customer service. The company also wanted to empower its staff at every level to take responsibility for mapping and improving their work processes.

They design, print, and manufacture cardboard cartons and packaging for a wide range of consumer products, including beer, chocolate, and paracetamol tablets. The company operates in an ultra-competitive industry, serving big brand clients who expect extremely high levels of quality and great service. The Solution
Colorpak adopted Nintex Promapp, a process management solution, to address their challenges. The solution provided a single platform to manage ISO, health and safety accreditation, and incidents. The incident management add-on of Nintex Promapp enabled faster and more efficient handling of issues, allowing most problems to be resolved before reaching the client. The solution also facilitated higher employee engagement, with staff trained to use Nintex Promapp and access process maps. Process leaders emerged and started working to improve their own processes, with Nintex Promapp providing a forum for collaboration and decision-making. The risk management add-on was overlayed onto the processes they’d mapped, integrating GMP & HACCP – a critical requirement for their business. Finally, the incident management add-on was implemented to manage non-conformance and health and safety incidents.

To improve support for this rapidly expanding segment, 3M needed to automate its own data collection and reporting. Jason Fox, Mobile Application Architect at 3M, upped the ante by volunteering to deliver the new app in one weekend. For Fox and his team, these requirements meant turning to the cloud instead of an on-premises datacenter. “My first thought was to go directly to the cloud because we needed to provide access not only to our salespeople, but to resellers who didn’t have access to our internal network,” says Fox. “The cloud just seemed like a logical choice.”
