The Challenge
Gillson Solutions, a freight brokerage, was using a truckload dispatch program that was not designed for their specific needs. The program was more suited for dispatching and routing trucks rather than searching for capacity, onboarding new carriers, and building a network of trusted carrier partners. The company's processes were largely manual, relying heavily on spreadsheets and piecemeal programs for data. This resulted in a clunky and inefficient system that was slowing down their operations and hindering their growth goals. They needed a tech stack that was fast, intuitive, easy to learn, and easy to navigate. They also needed strong search functions to help them find information quickly without endless scrolling and screen jumping.
About The Customer
Gillson Solutions is a Stockton, CA-based freight brokerage that also offers additional logistics services. Most of their loads are reefer loads for produce companies, but they have dry van customers, as well. They pride themselves on offering dependable top-quality logistics services. In 2021, Gillson Solutions set out to find new technologies that would help improve both its operations and bottom line. With several decades of experience under their belt in the transportation industry, the team at Gillson Solutions has worked with different TMS systems over the years but found they always came up short.
The Solution
After demoing several products, Gillson Solutions decided that Turvo’s TMS and Parade’s capacity management program were the perfect fit to overcome their challenges and meet their goals. Turvo’s Collaboration Cloud and Parade’s carrier profiles together connect team members with carriers and allow streamlined information sharing. Both applications have API connections that will allow Gillson Solutions to tie their entire tech stack together. Both are designed with the end-user in mind, with user interfaces that keep most daily tasks on one screen, high-powered search functions, and built-in automation that streamlines processes. Both are subscription-based solutions that will allow Gillson to attain ROI quicker.

Vehicle Fleet Analytics
Organizations frequently implement a maintenance strategy for their fleets of vehicles using a combination of time and usage based maintenance schedules. While effective as a whole, time and usage based schedules do not take into account driving patterns, environmental factors, and sensors currently deployed within the vehicle measuring crank voltage, ignition voltage, and acceleration, all of which have a significant influence on the overall health of the vehicle. In a typical fleet, a large percentage of road calls are related to electrical failure, with battery failure being a common cause. Battery failures result in unmet service agreement levels and costly re-adjustment of scheduled to provide replacement vehicles. To reduce the impact of unplanned maintenance, the transportation logistics company was interested in a trial of C3 Vehicle Fleet Analytics.
