The client, a leading provider of a wide range of tax services to thousands of clients in nearly 100 countries worldwide, was facing a challenge with their property tax calculation services. These services were mostly completed manually with the help of Excel sheets. As their business grew and the number of customers increased, these calculations started to incur substantial amounts of time and effort. The manual process was not only time-consuming but also led to additional operational expenses. The company needed to automate this process to maintain their efficiency and keep up with the growth.
The client is a leading provider of a wide range of tax services. They offer their services to thousands of clients in nearly 100 countries worldwide. Their services include property tax calculation services. However, due to rapid business growth, the number of customers that required these services increased substantially. This led to a significant amount of manual work and additional operational expenses. The client needed to automate the calculation process to maintain their efficiency and keep up with the growth.
N-iX developed a Property Tax module for the client’s platform that automated the property tax calculation process and accelerated tax analysis. The module was integrated with the external information tax system used by the client. It allowed users to easily generate an Excel document that calculates property tax and other values based on predefined rules. The results were uploaded into a single document that contains property price, rental income, and other details about the property valuation. Users could also generate PDF documents out of Excel, view data in PDF format, and monitor the data via a web UI. A feature was developed that allowed users to generate property valuations in bulk for real estate objects within any US county. This feature significantly increased the speed of tax analysis. To facilitate the onboarding process for users, a single sign-on into the client’s system and the Property Tax module was developed. The module was made cloud-agnostic with the help of Azure Functions, Kubernetes, and the KEDA framework. A UI/UX design was also developed for the Property Tax module, and a CI/CD pipeline was set up from scratch, which accelerated the release cycle.
