The Challenge
Tailored Brands, a leading omni-channel retail company, faced challenges in obtaining real-time data to analyze and support operational efficiency across its 1,000 locations and 11,000 employees. The company initially used Kibana on-premises to visualize its Elasticsearch data cluster, but managing Kibana became complex and resource-intensive. The solution required significant development time to create customized dashboards, and conducting log analysis during production issues was not a turnkey process. The company lacked the bandwidth to invest in the necessary UI resources to scale Kibana to meet current and future demands.
About The Customer
Tailored Brands is a leading specialty retailer of menswear, including suits, formalwear, sportswear, and business casual offerings. The company's brands include Men’s Wearhouse, Jos. A. Bank, Moores Clothing for Men, and K&G Fashion Superstore, which offers merchandise for the entire family. Tailored Brands aims to help customers look and feel their best for important moments by delivering personalized products and services through a network of stores and e-commerce sites. The company combines multiple omnichannel options such as hands-free fit technology, BOPIS (Buy Online, Pick Up In-Store), curbside pickup, appointment booking, and contactless payment with its legendary in-store service and expertise.
The Solution
To address its data analysis needs and gain operational insights, Tailored Brands selected Sumo Logic. The Sumo Logic Continuous Intelligence Platform (CIP) was integrated with the company's AWS, Google Cloud, and self-managed data center. Sumo Logic provided quality support during setup and rollout, helping Tailored Brands gain essential visibility into system states and transaction flows. The platform ingested logs from all sales terminals, providing real-time log monitoring across stores. This visibility allowed the company to understand and address POS issues proactively, reducing helpdesk calls. Additionally, Sumo Logic enabled end-to-end transaction visibility, especially valuable during high-volume periods like Cyber Monday and Black Friday. The platform also provided business analytics to help executive leadership make informed decisions about promotions and marketing strategies.
