The first step was to combine the city’s crime prevention and disaster management systems into a single infrastructure, deployed and managed in the city’s brand new Integrated Operations Briefing room. The challenge was to deploy a massive intelligent video surveillance system across Anyang’s entire 23-square-mile metropolitan area, with hundreds of high-definition digital video cameras linked to scores of servers running network video recording software and sophisticated pattern recognition analytics. The system links all cameras to the video management infrastructure in the Integrated Operations Briefing room at Anyang Police Department headquarters, complementing and enhancing the city’s police presence and rapid response capabilities.
